I am pleased to announce the latest version (version 3) of the Nutanix Hybrid Cloud Reference Architecture tech note is now available for download. The Nutanix® Hybrid Cloud Reference Architecture is a comprehensive document that is meant for an organization’s Enterprise Architect team. This guide is very technical and walks a customer through more than 100 design decisions that should be taken into consideration when deploying Nutanix solutions in a hybrid cloud or private cloud model.
Version 3 provides new content, and minor updates to previous sections. Brand new to this version includes the following topics:
- Prism Operations
- Nutanix Clusters for Hybrid and Multicloud Operations
- Nutanix Flow for Microsegmentation
- Nutanix Files
- Nutanix Objects
- Nutanix Mine (Integrated Backup)
- Calm for application orchestration
- Karbon for Kubernetes and Containers
- Era for DBaaS (Databases as a Service)
All of this new content is in section 6 of the guide, so it’s easy for you to find. Some minor changes were incorporated into the BC/DR section, such as expanding the protection level intermixing matrix for better clarity.
Most of the new content in version 3 is around the Nutanix AHV hypervisor. Nutanix believes in giving customers their choice in hypervisor, so sections 1 – 5 still cover both Nutanix AHV and VMware vSphere hypervisors for core HCI functionality.
- Hypervisor Choice
- Hardware Choice
- Management Layer
- Automation
- Security
- Networking
- BC/DR
- Multi-Sites
This guide is an invaluable tool for any Nutanix Enterprise Architect in your organization. You can download the Nutanix Hybrid Cloud Reference Architecture Guide here.
